It probably won't help, but try gently cleaning the J1 contacts (bottom left corner of PCB) with a soft pencil eraser.

Also it would be a good idea to retrieve the drive's firmware modules now that it is still working.

A replacement PCB would need to be reprogrammed with the patient's "ROM" code. A straight PCB swap without a firmware transfer would be unlikely to work.

Believe it or not, the soft pencil eraser worked! I was able to get all of the data off of the drive without issue.
