WD1600BEVS-08VAT2 cannot read modules

Unlocked ROM image and locked ROM image are exactly the same, so the cheksum errors or whatever Frank found strange in mod 47 may not be so important in unlocking.
Also one of the drives reported a crc error in mod 006F, but as it had ben pointed out in another topic, it is also nothing to worry about.

There was nothing actually wrong with MOD 47. I confirmed this by comparison with another ROM dump. I was just confused by the different structure of the version number.

recently my friend give me locked Lenovo hdd wd10jpvt and I have no luck to unlock it.

as I understand vendors add extra tweaks to they hdd security
no drq -- mhdd
password changed successfully -- wdr-demo

and I need to change my rom to retrieve access to SA area (by far my experiments show me that locking drive or changing master/user password on similar drives does no effect on rom - zero difference in rom's) so what I need to change in pcb/rom to mess up firmware load algorithm/translator I don't understand that part well =(

please help me solve my puzzle , my rom attached to post

and also explain what you mean when texting about "changing mod20" it is some sort of address ?
