I've a Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 bricked, it's not detected by BIOS. I've connected to it with hyperterminal to try the BSY Fix, and this what happens:

1) When I power up the drive in hyperterminal appears:

Rst 0x20M
Servo Processor Is Reset.

2) After that I can type the first fix commands:

F3 T>/2
F3 2>Z
DiagError 00005014
No HOST FIS-ReadyStatusFlags 2002B001

And there is no more response from drive. Any hint?

Normally the command Z would Spin down the motor.....every one knows.
Have you noticed a spin down,clicks after the Z command......then final spin down... dead ..Or no spinning at all right from the start of power up.Also notice if it is making any sounds on power up.(they can be heard by a close application of the ear to the hdd or with a stethoscope.)please write down model number, and firm ware.Also mention the tools you are using and your own findings if any?

That's either a heads problem or another mechanical one.

When I connect the drive and insert the Z command it spins down, and after that error 00005014 and the TTY goes down.

When I start the drive in normal mode sound like a "click" (only one), after that every 2 seconds I can hear the heads (normal noise, like a standard movement) and 15-20 secs later the drive remains in normal mode, motor running and no other noise.

I have another drive, identical, tried to swap the PCB, but same error 00005014 when I insert the Z command.
