converted invalid dynamic disk to basic accidentally

November 11th, 2015, 18:02

My son took my external hd and converted it to a basic disk when he couldnt get it to mount. When it wouldnt mount, he said it listed itself as an invalid dynamic disk.

This drive has all sorts of important info on it. Any way to recover it?

Can you show us the partitions with DMDE?

It is a bit more complicated than just copying it to another drive - it is a 3 disk eSATA RAID Hardware RAID enclosure - the RAID is done inside the enclosure and the OS looks at it like it is a single drive. Anyhow, here is the DMDE screenshot. It shows the partition. :)

Forgot to post this shot.

I hope running a scan doesn't kill the chances of recovery.

I bought a 6TB hard drive that I can use with a USB 3.0 to SATA Adapter for data recovery purposes. That SHOULD work.
