WD10EZRX - used as donor PCB; restored; now it's unreadable

December 4th, 2015, 13:51

I bought this 1TB WD Caviar Green to serve as a donor PCB on a broken HDD that I own. I removed the BIOS chip on the PCB and placed one from my broken HDD. It didn't worked so I placed back everything like before but now my 1TB HDD is not recognized anymore.

Well it was recognized for a moment but as soon as I pasted a file in the HDD an error appeared and the HDD will not show up anymore.

HDD is recognized in BIOS
HDD will make clicking sounds and then nothing happens

Did I messed up when the BIOS chip was soldered back into the PCB?

If you had messed up the "ROM" transfer, then the drive would not have spun up.
