I have a seagate F3 HDD. It has damaged heads. I want to fix it. What tool do you recommend? And please tell me why.

Seagate F3: There are many different tools out there, what drive from that architecture is it?

If heads are bad, it's not a DIY because you not only need tools but experience with these drives (and other drives). Otherwise the chances would be close to zero, sorry. A good head replacement tool alone will cost you nearly the same a data recovery service by a pro would charge you. And you do not only need these tools: You need a matching donor drive, a laminar flow bench, firmware-repair tools, hardware imager and so on.

There is no easy fix.

You wanna recover data or wanna refurbish (repair) the disk?

If you wanna recover data, I think a head replacement is needed; and a head replacement needs a lot of things, like the dust-free room, mature handy experience and so on, so actually there is no such a tool that can recover data from a head damaged disk;

But if you do not want to recover data, just for refurbish, I can suggest you a very powerful tool --- MRT.

For Seagate F3 broken heads problem, MRT can support the function to shield the broken heads( including Head 0).

Actually,MRT tools are the only tools that support shielding head of Seagate F3 currently, and this is the leading technology in data recovery field.
