HGST 7K1000-1000 Recovery Using DeepSpar - Issues

January 16th, 2024, 20:43

Trying to recover from a HGST 7K1000-1000 HDD using DeepSpar. When attempting to image, I'm getting a repeating pattern where the DeepSpar will image quickly and normally through a number of LBAs for just a few seconds (maybe 5 seconds), then the drive will click once, then I'll get maybe one 120 sector block with read timeout, then 5 seconds of good read again. This repeats over and over. This was just a quick check of the drive and I haven't changed the block size or any normal parameters yet. I was mostly concerned with the single click issue and whether anyone had any suggestions to overcome or eliminate it using the DeepSpar settings. Thanks in advance.
