Did you write both patched ROMs to the correct donor PCB?

This PCB supplier states that a ROM swap should work for ...

    Model : ST2000DM008
    Board Number: 100815595
    P/N : 2FR102-020
    F/W : 0001

Assuming they are correct, this would suggest that the early version of this PCB may not have a keyed MCU. Perhaps one could transfer the patient ROM to this early PCB?

HDD Surgery shows two families for the ST2000DM008-2FR102, both with F/W 0001:

https://firmware.hddsurgery.com/index.php?manufacturer=Seagate&family=Pharaoh_Oasis
https://firmware.hddsurgery.com/index.php?manufacturer=Seagate&family=V9

I wonder if one family is without a digital signature? It would be interesting to compare a V9 ROM dump against a Pharaoh_Oasis.

See this thread:

ISTR that someone said that this PCB came with a keyed MCU and a non-keyed MCU, and it is impossible to distinguish between them visually.

I think the problem is "write ROMs to the correct donor PCB"...

That post case of "jamesrajesh007" was solved with Donor PCB.

For your case, can u post Patient PCB ROM and Donor PCB ROM?

I think so, too.

The OP already posted both. Where do you think the patched ROMs came from?

As for that other post, was the donor MCU "locked", or was the PCB an earlier unlocked one? It would have been nice if you had updated that other thread with your solution.

i will search donor PCB with below ROM code match

ROm-Code.jpg

and transfer if digital signature is in Patient ROM to Donor ROM as well as SAP RAP CAP

then it will surely work.

here donor and patient PCB ROM are not match

Note; fzabkar sir if u PM your email i will send how that 4TB case solved with Patient rom, donor rom and modified rom
