I encounter an electricity blackout while I do a defragement of a removable HDD let's name it HDD1.

Before when I access this removable HDD1, it is really quiet, but since the electricity blackout happens, now whenever I access this removable HDD, it makes loud noise.

I can't trust this removable HDD1 anymore. I'm planning to buy another removable HDD first backup the HDD1 data as much as possible. Then how should I diagnose whether HDD1 could be trusted to save data anylonger?

Loud noise? Like a trumpet or what?

No, like the sonic trombones of Jerichow.
The mexican guy is most likely Mario. And to avoid mentionning the names of his 2,5'' disk which we already know very well, he had the glorious idea to name his disk "HDD1"...
