Hello,

After a recent power outage a computer with a single plater maxtor hard disk is no longer running. The 40 gig Maxtor drive is not detected at boot. It does power on (I can hear it spin). I installed it into a USB caddy and got the same results. I need the data off this Hard Drive. What can I do?

The problem is highly probably firmware related.
There are 2 ways U can choose:
1. take it to an expert to solve this problem,
2. U may try salvationdata's SW (I never tried). there may be other SW on reasonable price, but I don't know any at the moment, I use a professional one.
