Most are SCSI. Made by Seagate, IBM and Jujitsu

Try detecting the hdd in safe mode and chk the SA

It`s heads/SA problem - 50/50
you would buy PC3000 SCSI for checking drives (exculding fujitsu)
and for Fujitsu SCSI ask for help Russian Guru - Vi - may be he sell you his programm

IF you do not have a PC3K to use then I would try sending it to a data recovery company.
