Hi people

I have a Toshiba MK6021GAS hdd that has a bad bearing.
I've read somewhere that you can put a bit of lube on the bearing to fix it.
these drives have a fluid bearing. I've pulled the drive apart & can’t see any leakage anywhere.

If anyone has successfully repaired one of these please let me know
I don’t waste any more time on it if it's not possible.

I have successfully recovered the data so that’s not an issue.

Cheers

Look on back. Remove Warrenty Seal. You will see a silver disk about 1/2". Remove that disk with needle, scribe or razor. What ever works for you. In small lid put a few drops of silicon based lubricant and a few drops of Isopropyl alcohol "91% or better". Use Q-tip to apply to bearing when powered off then power on and repeat. Alcohol will help penetrate and dry cleaner. Make sure to recover the seal.

Good luck. :)
