Hi, My hdd is dead because of his firmware .. Does someone have a valid firmware so i can recover the data on my hdd ? Thx

dead u mean the drive is clicking or is the hdd detecting and media is gone bad .

The drive is clicking and he's not recognized .. I just want to recover some data on this hdd ..From what i've read it's caused by a bad firmware .. it's weird .. one day the hdd work perfectly and the other he's dead

Clicking can be caused by three problems :

1) PCB problem
2) Bad firmware
3) Bad head

identify the problem first .

My PCB look fine, everything look well welded and no visible scratch.. But i don't know if it's the firmware or the head.. When i'm connecting it to my computer and boot it, the hdd spin 1 time and the head is clicking 1 time too. When i'm doing test with Mhdd he's giving me ....Alot of error because the hdd is not spining .. So do you know what can cause this ? Thanks

its a firmware problem , but these drives have a very little chance of getting repaired .

It can be head and preamp problem as well.

but i'm pretty sure too it's a fw problem, because one time he have been detected by the bios and he gived a weird fw name like square and a name .. that i don't remember .... so there's no way to get a valid firmware and flash my drive with it ?

It's not about getting firmware.
It's about getting right tools and knowing how to diagnose, what to "flash" and what not to "flash"

In your case most likely it's a dead head, so forget it.

yes i think he is right if u dont have good experience for repairing hdd then dont u will mess it up more and make it impossible for it to recover .

... anyway now i can't recover anything .. so i can't mess it up more .. and anyway if i mess it up more .. too bad i'll be at the same point .. i would just like to have a valid bin firmware for my drive and try it .. Thanks

I've tried to put it in PCB mode and when i'm doing this the hdd is not spinning .. so it's i guess it's really a rom problem ..

You can't just upload the firmware, you need special tools to do this and they are very expensive. It's not as easy as flashing other Computer parts, such as BIOS or CD-ROM Drive. In addition as already stated above, it way not even be a firmware problem. IF you need the data, you should send the drive to a professional data recovery company.
