WD Recertified

Hello

I want to knock if anyone know the distribuition on a WD Recertified from MDT its a 60 GB Case with H0,H1,H2,H3,H4,H5 but H0 was disable from factory , ths hdd fails on SA the question its how works if u select write SA to COPY0 and COPY1 on a normal case and not one head setting a not recertfied HDD should be write the fist copy to Cil -1 to -9 and the second copy to -10 & -18 but how its stored on a Recertified with one head disabled from re factory? what could be happend if u select write the modules to both copies ? So on theory only H0 and H1 on a multihead stored the SA or could be store on another heads the rest of SA?

Thanks

How can head 0 be disabled ? another thing is that u said that H0 and H1 work for writing in SA so if H1 is disabled how can the SA be operational so it works like this if u disable H1 then H2 takes the place of H1 and works in its place .

Hello rameez , believe or no its disabled from head map , im know on recertifed factory they do that even if u bought a WD i have some WD3200KS with mark R and if u check head maps u find are disabled the bad heads :D , now i get solution for DR on this model thanks GOD , and HRT cool!! :D At some times have more features, HRT than pci , for WD , its more hard to use it but its very usefull, and more powerfull.

yes bad heads can be disabled but it is imposible to disable head 0 and pci also have good support for disabling heads .
