WD1600JS-00MHB1 --- Help !

March 20th, 2008, 10:35

HDD with the burnt pcb:

WD1600JS-00MHB1
pcb: 2060-701335-005 REV A (with 88i6545-TF1)
fw: 10.02E01

I found these two good pcb's from:

WD2000JS-00MHB0
pcb: 2060-701335-003 REV B (with 88i6545-TF1)
fw: 02.01C03

WD1600JS-00NCB2
pcb: 2060-701335-005 REV A (with 88i6889-TF1)
fw: 10.02E03

I have changed the ROM U12 in both good pcbs
and hdd is not working
after few clicking go to safe mode and
after
WD .......HAWK
give:
10.02E02 ( firmware revision )

THIS is the reason that i suppose that the ROM is ok
but I am not shure that the PCB's are fully compatible...

Does anybody have any suggestion ?

Yes , I am using original ROM....

PCBs:

2060-701335-003 REV B (with 88i6545-TF1)
and
2060-701335-005 REV A (with 88i6545-TF1)

look like same
but are they fully compatibley

and I suppose that if i put original ROM
is it changed FW revision?
