Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 8

Hello All,

I have a Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 8 30GB which is dead, numbers on cover - code NAR61590 6E030L050201 AAA SN E105ZPBE

The problem I have is the HDD cant be seen by the OS and doesnt seem to power up.

Can anyone suggest a way to fix this? IM guessing I might need a new PCB but where can I get one from and what about compatability issues?

If you just try to fix try yourself, you at least need one set professional device to diagnose and repair and recover.

Otherwise, You can send it a profession data recovery service compnay if the data is REALLY Important for you.


Noone give you any useful advice for your disk from the only description adjective word "DEAD".

If the motor is not spinning then its a pcb problem .
To get a working pcb post on buy/sell section of the forum there u can get help .
