I am wondering if you guys can give me some advice on this drive. Hitachi travelstar hts548020m9at00. I am using salvation hitachi tool and have gotten nowhere. This drive will not id itself. If I go thru the process of loading from a file then loading the nvram sometimes this will work and the drive will show. Most of the time not. When I do get it to show after uploading the old modules I cannot see anything in the sector view. I have done a sector scan using the hitachi tool once the drive does id and it has more bad sectors than good. Do you think maybe the head is really weak? I am a little new at this and just looking for some advice.
