 Post subject: Training with HDD From SalvationData

Hi Gurus:

I am trying to recover data using SalvationData HDD for Hitachi tool, i you can help me i will be hapy, thank for your help.

I have an Hitachi 5480 HD model.

When i switch on with HDD for Hitachi, the hd click 4/5 times, and then sounds well.

before HDD not show me the model number and other.

Them i try to "HDD load management" i click on 5480 model and i click "Load from HD" and HDD says me:
"Read SA Map module Error"
and
"Read RAM Map module Error"
and
"access violation at module ......" HDD for Hitachi cracks.


Them i reload HDD for Hitachi to try another things:

Them i try to "HDD load management" i click on 5480 model and i click "Load from File" (I used a ".res" file downloaded from salvationdata RAR files):
Them i try to "BackUp FW" but i can only backup this modules:
WRT1
WRT0


he other modules give me ERROR (The other modules give me error.)

Them i try to BackUP NVRAM with "NVRAM Operations" i click on "READ NVRAM" I think i have saved the NVRAM module (because I obtain a "NVRAM_5480_A5BA_B773DF4E_05_A593_1295_1.NVR" file)

Them i try to "UPDATE FW"
I Swithed to "SA-C" mode using in "SA-A/SA-C" button in "HDD load management" and
using "../MOD/A-ZONE" files downloaded from salvationdata RAR files and i try to UPDATE the HD firmware:
But i only can update some files.

The HD dont response well
I i try to BackUP FW anothe time but HDD give me error making FW backup too,

What can I do?, Can you help me?

I i try to see the ifo of HD using "View sector" i only obtain:

0x020 6666 6666 6666 6666 6666 6666 6666 6666 (ffffffffffffffff)

The access violation error sounds bad. Have you contacted SD tech support?

Is your drive SATA or IDE? , if it is SATA make sure your SATA-->IDE converter is working and make sure you use the one comes with SD (yes the red SATA to IDE).

Hi:

No, i do not contact with DS support yet. But i will send now an email to "sales.laura".

Sorry my HD is an IDE HD (I do not need the "RED" converter).

any idea?

any one can send me FW of HITACHI 5480 model for try to chage it (.Res modules, NVRAM, etc of a donnor)
