Hi

I have a Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 500Gb HDD.
One day when I turn my pc on it took so long to load Win XP and chkdsk reported a large list of errors.
I had the blue page and when I tried to reinstall Win XP I lost my 1st partition. Then I tried to recover it but I lost my next 4 partitions too! (So Bad) After that when ever I tried to recover my partitions for example by GetDataBack it goes to 9% then my system hangs and when I restart BIOS could not detect HDD till a power cycle!
I googled my problem and I found out the Seagate bug (BSY & LBA0) and I checked my HDD in Seagate website and it was in the affected list. So I thought upgrading my SD15 firmware to SD1A will solve the problem. I upgraded the firmware successfuly but the problem exists yet!! The difference was a SMART error after upgrading!!! (Thanks to Seagate!)
Now I can see my partitions and files with "Active Partition Recovery" but I could not recover them.
Victoria reports is here:

Don't thank Seagate but blame the incorrect/incomplete info on the net about DIY. If the drive was bricked, you couldn't upgrade the Fw. As the drive has developed problems, a fw upgrade in such conditions lead to other problems. An upgrade is advisable only on a 100% operational drive, at least for me.

Hi

Your hdd have media or head problems, clearly.
With the FW update, maybe you have corrupted the error-lists, this can make more problems.

I suggest to find a pro near you and ask for only an image procedure to another drive, and you can try the raw recovery with your programs on this drive.
If you want the full recovery made by a pro, this can be 5x expesive caused by the slipping of the error lists.
The raw image copy can be cheap, but it depends on the pro of course.

Your drive is dieing + can have some SA corruption.
You have not too much time to try more things, keep this in mind!
If your drive is died, than you will be in a really high price range!

if you want, read this:

Thanks to all
So I think I should say bye to those photos and datas.
1- How much will be the recovery for my HDD?
2- Is there anything else (like the tik sound or vibration) with this kind of head problem?
3- How much is the percent of a successful recovery? (0% - 100%)

1 - depend on your local market or where you send the drive.
2 - must see the drive to diagnose
3 - see point 2.
