Bricked Seagate 7200.11...

Hello everybody guru's expert.

I need some information on a seagate 7200.11 (st3500320AS firm : SD15)that I have try to unbrick

one day ..not detected by the bios .. but look that it sounds clearly for me ..

I have search a long time on internet to well understand and try the processus to unbrick my 500 Go drive.
all seems perfect to the command m0,2,2,,,,,22 even if it do not find any user partition and run without error
.. a restart ..

the drive was correclty detected again by bios but no data again ...
....
So A have read and read and search a long time to find a solution ...
....
salvation data give m0,6 command so I try ... but same result.
....
upgrade the firmware to SD1A
....

and I read a post from gradius2 from msfn forum that 's seems very competent.
he wrote that we could try ...

F3 T>m0,1,1,0,0,0,0,22

If no good, try:
F3 T>m0,1,1,2,2,0,0,22

If success, try this again:
F3 T>m0,2,2,0,0,0,0,22

It can takes as slow as 30 to 120 secs to get something on terminal.

but the m0,1,1 ... take a long time to execute about 2-3 hours ... with some errors...
while the command running I continue to read all the mega long post and understand was not really a high guru and just copy a solution ...
when I understand that this command seems to erase the sectors .. I stop it ...


so what does this guy say me to do exactly ? m0,1,1 ?

I try many soft and solution .. probably erase sector with hddscan 3.0 from salvation from 900000000 to the end with my bad tests
actually all my sector from 34857 to the end are bad sectors.

is there a way to retreive their status without loss of data ..

any idea ? all lost ?

If Salvation gave you that command, you might want to ask their tech to remote in on your system and see if they can help you recover it!!!

salvation did not give me .. I only found a page from their site that give this command on the unbrick process for seagate busy mode .
I suppose yep that their tech is like you a guru ...

I understand now that professionals do not help other people that do not have the money to pay for a recover.

sounds like you will need to remap bad sector in order for translator to be rebuilt. You should send this to someone in the know.

We are often criticised for 'not helping' and not revealing secrets, but this case is the perfect justification: the right commands, in the wrong hands = data loss. It is as simple as that, and I hope that this will highlight just how easy it is to make a mistake without the right knowledge

I have a question to original poster, he says Salvation data suggest trying m0,6 command, does this mean he is SD customer, and this drive potentially is not his own but a clients?

As much as SD are criticised, they are more reliable than a post at MSFN topic boards.

If you didn't get the msg above, then you skipped something important, and turning off your drive now will render an unreadable drive, so be careful.

and yes I also know that diy recover is not the best way to get back data ..

and no I am not client of SD... If financialy I could, it would be a pleasure ...
when you lost your job from several month the first choice is not to pay to recover the 0-12 month of your daughter .......................

Now, I only want to know if with all my bad command my drive is deleted definitly ?
could I do a low level format to get back a new 500Gb drive for free ?
