The drive was working perfectly alright, but recently i've unfortunately upgraded the firmware, apparently it went well and completed but after that the drive stopped appearing in My computer, Disk Management and device manager.

Can you see the drive or its USB-SATA bridge chip with Microsoft's UVCView utility?

IMPORTANT: The following precautions should be taken before installing the firmware update.
Before updating the firmware on your My Book or My Passport drive, make sure you have an additional copy of your important information.

P.S. don't ask for ways to solve it on-your-own at home for free : there aren't.

But unfortunately in my case as part time working student i've to put my 1 month earning just on the data recovery. So in that case going to a pro is certainly not feasible and i'll learn and try what ever I can to get the data by myself, because unfortunately i cant afford the first ideal option.
