Hi guys, I have here a OCZ Vertex2 240GB SSD for recovery
When i plug it to my PC BIOS not recognize it wait about 1 minute but no t rcognize SSS.
I try with difernet PCs but the same way
I opened case and i can see Power Led continuously in Green and FLT initialy power up (RED) for a fraction of a second, then turns power off for 2 seconds and then power up continously (in RED).
I atach to tx/RX and i get this log:

SandForce = Encrypted Data by controller
not as easy as it looks
#2 you may check the latest acelab NAND, i think (not sure) supports it (MAYBE)

IF:
1- this is your client hdd ----> return it back there is nothing you can do
2- this is yours ---> keep in somewhere and just wait there might be later (but sure not very soon)
not much to start with.
in fact i bought few here and saved it for later investigation but sure will be very long

I do not untherstand you
what about. you screwed?
March 28th, 2013, 8:14
Hi einstein9
I think like you
is a recovery for a customer. but i think the is only a FW problem, this cain of problems must be reparable. if you know something for this case, please contac me.
Thanks.

It means that most likely you will not be able to find somebody that would be able to get data back from that SSD for a reasonable amount in a reasonable time

ohh
thanks Doomer
but must be reflasheable.
must be posible. tha matter is: how to reflash it?
Thaks for your help

anybody knows anyoter way?
maybe FW Update or FW repair? maybe FW electronisc repair?
Thaks for your help

I have solutions either for data recovery OR repair / refurb the drive for reuse (if it is reasonably damaged).
But again data recovery if possible IS EXPENSIVE , repair/refurb maybe is cheap, but you have to send the SSD in AND it is not $10 in any case (neither 20 neither 30)
PLEASE don't contact me asking how to repair it or any other technical info.

That's promising news

Totaly agree with that !
Thanks BlackST
IF is reparable, his is a good news, but for this case, data recovery is needed.
I wait for news about Data recovery dor this case.
Thanks.

Everything depends on what happened.
At present I can say that the power failures that lead to electronics failure on HDDs seem to be more destructive on SSDs , seen relatively few catastrophical failures vs. total failures but in any case it was worth repairing the PCB.
P.S. I see here people are starting to throw away SSDs and stick again to the old fashioned HDDs - especially when the SSD turns "read only" (at least data is safe)... have quite a stock for parts

Thanks BackST.
You think this case is about power failures?

There seems no evident damage (from picture) but the garbled data you get on terminal output make me think about either malfunction / FW problem.
Out of curiosity does the Sandforce chip heat abnormally ?
