When you check with MHDD does it states that the drive is password protected ?
If so did you lock the drive and do you know the password ?

yes:

the DFT program:

I do not have the password ...

It is a hard drive from an old laptop broken.

thanks for the help

After nearly all day with this, read and read , I have several questions

in the bios , what should I put option ? native IDE or AHCI ?

ide in native mode , I always get the message : unlock not done

AHCI mode , I always get " elapsed " and nothing more ,You can also spend 3 hours

SATA port that connect the hard drive ?

I have the versión zu_betta_fix_020813

What you could be happening?

forgive my English is a little poor

Re: remove password hitachi

ok , I have to connect the hard drive in the last sata port in native mode ide

run again after zu, Use the command ZU / P. ----- unlock not done!!!

with the command ZU / P8, I get the message: NOW YOU CAN SCREW IT IN. PRESS ANY WHEN READY ",
I press enter.... UNLOCK NOOOOOT DONE

My motherboard is a Gigabyte GA - 880GMA - UD2H, It has an IDE port where I connected a recorder

After ZU detects the drive and attacks it, the program will report the NativeHitachi message "NOW YOU CAN SCREW IT IN. PRESS ANY KEY WHEN READY".

The HGST message will be "POWER OFF / ON AND EXECUTE ZU AGAIN".

In the first case, you just need to reinstall the controller on the drive, carefully screw it down, and then press any key.

In the second case, turn off the power and reinstall the controller. Then power up the HDD and run ZU again with the same parameters. This procedure applies to IBM / HGST (ExcelStore) models from DTLA to HTS7225xxK9SA00 (5K250) (dozens of models).

do not really understand...

show a screenshot of MHDD to identify the channel to which you connected the HDD
If the timer is working,it is likely that the channel selected is not correct

Re: remove password hitachi

November 7th, 2015, 2:51

now I have another problem when I try to format it, or do some teste with DFT software , I get the error 0x73 excessive shock, ¿ broken hard drive?

Re: remove password hitachi

November 7th, 2015, 8:44

I get the error 0x73 excessive shock

need to see the dumps identify device (ata=0ECh) & smart(ata=0B0h...D0h)

repair laptop HGST-disk requires considerable time .
but the procedure is completely standard. the cycle of writing, formatting(or recalc translator) ,reading.

How I can see ?

Spildit wrote:You can read my guide on Hard Drive testing and Hard drive defect hiding as there are some tests / procedures to hide defects that you can do even if you don't have specific firmware tools.

Be aware that it will take HUGE AMOUNT OF TIME on Biger drives like yours.

Have a nice reading :

Regards and please post if you can read/write to sectors with Victoria/MHDD + S.M.A.R.T. log.

Spildit wrote:Can you erase the drive ? Use something like Victoria to dump S.M.A.R.T. and check if you can read /verify the surface.
Maye the drive have just a bad S.M.A.R.T. value for the shock sensor ...
Maybe it have bad sectors as well ....

thanks, now what I have to work with Drevitalize. It seems to find many bad sectors

Image

time consuming, I hope to finish ? as finished, I show a screenshot of victoria

with MHDD I can not format , said device broken ...

again, thank you all for the help

Spildit wrote:I would do a "fast erase" with MHDD or Victoria by using the internal standar secure erase procedure as it's faster then using write.

no,it's still better not to do,as in rdmt may contain incorrect entries describing the defects. in addition, if the Security Erase fails,it is difficult to control the location of the crash. better done through SCT.
