General help with pc-3000 and or data extractor

December 26th, 2004, 21:57

We just recently purchased both products and I enjoy reading other peoples ideas on how to recover data etc. Being new to this program and not in a position to take the training just yet I would like to know if anyone out there would help me understand a little more on how to use either of the 2 programs? I would be happy to communicate with you through email, instant messenger, or phone. If you would be willing to give me a push in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it.

Best wishes for a new year.

read the manual book carefully . make out the operation step .which step is the first step and which is second. data extractor is an expert data recovery software.it need pc3k card . in some case you need load firmware at first and scan by data extractor then the hdd will be ok.

Jerry,

Thanks for your post but we were looking for a little more detailed description of what to do i.e a flow chart for troubleshooting etc. We have read the book and are still confused on things.

Go and buy some OOW drives like Maxtor and WD - Fuj you will find everywhere - and just start recording results and mistakes.

Nobody is going to tell you :

OK for Maxtor do this then this then that and take into account this
in this situation and don't do this if you need the data.

You either pay for training or you pay with long long hours - your choice.

success :good:

stocking up for new year

How much did you buy the PC-3000 for? Somebody said it's $7000.

January 12th, 2005, 23:36

Is that English Version? I mean, with English submenus and screen prompts?

January 13th, 2005, 7:43

The price of the PC3000 you will be able to have since you ask ACELAB.
Of course that the price that they will give you is the price that is comument known as FOB ( Free on Board ) this means that is the price in Moscow.
So to this priice you will need to understand that has expenses if you are not in Moscow, also some tax. But you can have it if you think that you can expend some time to new the country.
This price is arround U$2.100,00 - since the price is now in Euros this value can have some changes - also this is the price for the PC3000 only has the price for Data Extractor and this is arround U$1.300,00 and if you want you can also ask about the price for the SCSI tools.
This is part of the investiment, if you want to do Hard disk repair and recovery, you need to think that you will need a lot more then this.
But you allways can get some jobs without investiments, you can get an Internet conection and you can come here and ask for some help, why not ?

The price for pc3k has changed and now in a range of $7-8K. Data extractor - you are right - 1300-1400.
We bought our unit from canada, and it's not just pc3k card - there is a whole computer that these guys configured for us already. I found it very convinient, as i didn't have to waste my time looking for the mainboard, etc. In fact, my boss bought pc3k from russia once and couldnt figure out what to do with it.
This unit already paid for itself in the first four weeks.

ACELAB now has a new representant, I was not informed - sorry all.

January 15th, 2005, 8:18

I don't think it will cost 7-8k$. My quotation was around 2k$.

Really? Where did you get the quote? Was that for the Russian version. I got a quote from the Canadian reseller for over $11,000 for PC-3000 with Extractor.

Good. I wish you people would SHUT UP. There are too many people on this site that are just looking for information. This site should only be for EXPERTS. Everybody else should go home and stop asking about data recovery.

Why can't you people get the hint. You should not be attempting anything having to do with Data Recovery. Stop bothering us people that know about it.

You should have to pass a test or demonstrate your ability somehow before being allowed to join this site.

We are not here to "help each other out." You want help. PAY ME. Then I'll recover your drive, and laugh in your face. You people are useless to me. I already forgot more than you'll ever know about DR. You can do nothing for me so just quit or die.

If I ever found you, I would kill you myself so that the real people can do DR. You people fuck up the whole industry for all of us.

LEAVE THIS SITE NOW. NEVER COME BACK!!!

The $7000 usd quote came from me, I got it from an acelabs rep in upstate NY. I think that this forum is great, Yes there are alot of newbe's looking for a quick fix. But for someone how wants to learn there are very few places that share information. Hard drive repair / data recovery is such a closed society, that informaton or programs are hard to come by.
Thanks to those that share Beer-man.

January 16th, 2005, 2:18

Thank you. I really appreciate it Beer-man and agree with you. I kind of got flamed there, but I really was just trying to continue the thread, not highjack it, or get free information.

Yes, some of us are competitors, but I think we all must share what we know (at least some of it). The industry will be better and stronger for it. We can help each other out.

I am happy to share with others and appreciate all of you that share with me. I am in the market for a PC-3000. If there is a rep in NY, I would be interested in speaking with them. I am in the Philadelphia area.

Thank you again.

I really do not had intention to hijack the thread, SORRY for that.
I do not care about legal or ilegal software, but I care when someone receive a hard disk to do a job and instead of fix it he will fu,, it.
The client will not have what he wants - serious people that are in the business are not gonna get the job , the end user will think that everybody in this market do not know what to do or what are doing, and he will say to everybody that he knows what happpens with him and the business will loose the credit.
So has professionals that spend theyers life in this business, studying working - is sad when we realize that verything will die.
The situation of this business in Russia and in some others countries is critical, jobs that in 1.999 had the costs arround U$2.500,00 USD no has people saying that can do for U$100,00 USD - why ? because this people has nothing to do and nothing to loose and they do not care, today they are here tomorrow even them do not know what they are gonna do; and this is bad - not for me - but for the business.
Why do you think that has business that the people that work in them has credibility ?
Anyhow - why think about this - is not your problem if DATA RECOVERY is not a good business tomorrow you can sell computers or you can install network or who knows ?,there are many things that you can do - at least for a few days or months.
I'm in the business has more then 34 years, and believe me I will be in it till I die. I saw many things - and many revolutions and many guys and guess what ? I'm still here.
I have no problem in get more job, but is sad very sad when I think about this business and about what could be donne if the people involved in it could be more serious more professionals more responsables ; but you do not think like this you really do not care, you are looking for a magic solution you are looking for the LDRs and modules that can put some hard disks to work, and has many persons here thinking that this business is this only this....
You see television ? has an advertisng there that says - walk - keep walking......

Guys, why are you all fighting here?
I agree with cenahum... there are many companies that do DR for $100 and they are killing the industry... this is wrong. Average DR cost is about $1500 and let's keep it that way.

I spoke with a guy from Canada. They sell PC3K, and he gave me the reason why it's 7-8K for PC3K and not 1-2K:
1) Chinese hacked PC3K and now are selling it worldwide. Be aware of this scam, as the cracked PC3K can not be updated and does about 5-10% of what original PC3K can do.
2) You can get PC3K from Russia or China, but you will not get good english manual. All you get is a card and a CD. From canadian guys you get a computer that is already configured for you, a manual and full technical support. These guys are great. They also offer training on PC3K.
3) It's hard to list all the points, but trust me, there is a good reason why the original PC3K is expensive.

We bought this system in October 2004 and the system paid for it within first three weeks.
I was told that the actual price for this system is about 11-12K and Canadians sell it to you for 7 if you are a first time buyer, so you get to know the system with spending less money.

This is all I can say...

P.S... and no, I am not an agent of acelab or somebody else. I am just happy with the product I bought. :good:
