Thanks for the info but not the least ... can somebody help me providing info on the software that reads and corrects HDD's size, I meant to ask for a software which can edit copy restore or paste or save or rebuild only sector o and 1? This is required to correct the HDD's size pl. Its showing some 40346729Gb.

And dimensional details of 2.5" pl extraction/replacement setup pl.

Sounds like a bad logic board to me. If so, software won't help, and the more you try, the more likely you are to make your drive unrecoverable!

If the logic board is bad, note that the important chips are BGA. No way you can fix it yourself. Send it to a pro if you care about your data; go ahead and ruin it if you don't.

If you need "dimensional data" just open the drive and measure. There is no cheap, DIY way of doing this. There is most definitely DIY but you are going to have to experiment to figure it out. Over half of the diagnostic abilities of the people you talk to one this board comes straight from the head. There exists a basic diagnostic flow chart (acelab manuals) for most drives but that only directs you where to look, not how to test.

After reading back through some of the posts I believe I need to elaborate. You can attempt to recover your data and succeed, BUT you only get one chance. There are the hundreds of failures in the process that you are neglecting. Following this course will make failure #1 the drive you are trying to save.

Btw drive size is not on LBA 0 or 1: it's on firmware tables.

Why are you insisting on doing a platter swap, when you've been told NOT to?

You obviously know better than us, I give up, sorry.

Folks tx for all ur support. When it comes to becoming an expert what makes you to stop is failure, what does not, is presence of mind and guts to handle ... hmm sorry. I was not insisting pl but just a case that I am the only one who was to handle it.

Resolution:
Customized CRE
Fab Platter fixture for 2.5" with the help of a good friend
