Zed with all due respect people in this forum are not stupid, why would anyone sell $800 for their hard earn knowledge where they can do a single data recovery for few thousand $ ? Plus once you have gained the knowledge you can earn even more. Well for time being this particular knowledge is i think not for sale. Outsource is the way to go.

P.S Outsourcing is not always helpful, for example for forensic cases.

I found a list of disk ata commands for this model disk in the Seagate Product manual online for the 7200.11

Thats just standard stuff. You won't see any VU commands in there. You can only do funky magic within the diag port

Where do you think the terminal command set might be stored?
In the SA?
In a rom?
In a microprocessor?
In volatile memory?

It must be possible to gain access to the required code and then to disasemble it just the same as any 'hacker' might.
I supose you could actually pay a software engineer to do this for you. Maybe a poor student at college?

I have bad news.
The terminal code are more on these places!

The general are in the PCB (inside the MCU), but more modules added when the drive "boots", and more levels, functions added later....
