I am sorry to tell you but you are lying or mistaken. You cannot get data by making hotswap w/o original defect lists

Just to add some pepper, you are assuming the preamp is not fried. The OP said it is a drive from media server, so it's time to dig in the pockets for decent, professional help if data is important, otherwise everything including lighting up a candle in honour to ... will be useless. @ rupal, don't be surprised if you get 'skeptical' feedback : posting HERE (HDDGURU) such...er...advice is like trying to teach dad how to f..ck or to go to a NRA convention with a "hunt hunters" t-shirt... don't expect the red stripe. Hotswap can work in restricted situations and must be prepared, it's not unscrew and go.

It's this sort of bullsh*t that makes it's way onto the net and loses people their data.

Plug the new (working drive) into your Pc (keep both drives out of the case upside down so the logic boards are accessible) once the drive has mounted in windows, you need to put the drive to sleep (you can set windows to put hdd's to sleep after 5min) then while the HDD is asleep, with a T8 screwdriver carefully remove the board without shorting any components & leave the Power & SATA cable plugged in. Then screw it onto the bad HDD (with faulty board removed obviously) Then browse the disk & you should be able to see\backup the data. DO AT YOUR OWN RISK obviously.
Yes, and you get 2 damaged PCB if the preamp is short.
Additionally, what about the factory defects, adaptives and calibration?
You will get a corrupted content in this way!
Please don't say if you don't know what do you need to say...
