Uff.... To cut a long story short , if the DIY is the road to go, get a replacement PCB and try it.

What can happen :

1) The new PCB will be killed at power on
2) The drive clicks furiously and/or make the typical "zzzing! " sound . In this case HSA IS KO and more than sometimes some data will be screwed (too technical to explain and also useless here).
3) It works (partially or not).

In case 1) and 2) you should know what to do.
