Wait until you get more familiar with the various controls. The defaults are nice, but when you start setting the drive to jump to the next head on read timeouts, or how to power cycle based on the type of error, it becomes even more powerful. And, with DRE, it is really nice to be able to target a single file (ie MFT) where you can keep targeting the unread sectors until you have it as clean as possible.

welcome to the Club Eisenstein, i thought i saw your post over at the deespar Forum,

yup, love my DDI, & like it was mentioned wait till you start getting the hang of the function keys & invert imaging or imaging with a disabled head, it rules... & it only gets better .... (I haven't used DE so don't throw tomatoes at me guys:) )

PS, still a amazing props to you on the Smart ware technique ,,, Great Job.

As a matter of Fact, i ordered it for those damn cases which really needs REMOTE TS.

i got some cases which i wanted to compare my DDI with the Ferrari and here it begins.

7y back when i bought one of those, it was far expensive really to manage my server remotely
but now its almost 1/3 the price...

let us see what happens now...

If that doesn't work out, consider logmein.com + DRE (with DDI Terminal window). That's what I use every night and works well.
