Convert USB Toshiba MQ01UBD100 to SATA

I am trying to get the corresponding ROM chip, but I can not peel off with Hot Air Pencil or soldering iron that I have now.
Everybody solder, How are you peeling off?

This is probably old and obvious news, but just had to swap heads on a USB MQ01UBD100. The SATA PCB from the MQ01ABD100 head donor seemed a good match for SATA conversion.

USB PCB: G003250A

SATA PCB: G003138A

MCU: 88i9317-RAI2

Conversion worked fine.

So, i have one of USB MQ01UBD100, and found donor PCB SATA PCB from the MQ01ABD100. Do i still need to swap BIOS? Or can i it simply work by switching PCB?

Hi, everyone,

I have a couple questions about this specific drive and if you think a new board would help.

Out of nowhere the drive just stopped working. It was fine one day, and the next it is just dead. The drive doesn't light up when I connect it to a computer, no sounds, OS doesn't recognize it. I tried different cables and different computers.

I was hoping that the interface is just bad and the drive is OK. I just had to do a data restore on a seagate drive and it cost $700. I really don't want to have to do it again.

Do you think this sounds like a bad board? I tried to remove it to make sure everyone was connected, but one of the screws is stripped and couldn't get the all off. Any tips on dealing with a stripped screw when they are so small?

There are two fuses near the USB port.

Thanks for reply. I'm taking from that that you think one or both of the fuses might have blown?

Are they the two yellowish looking pieces that I have boxed out in green on the attached image?

Do they just pop out to replace? They look like they were soldered in.

I am confused. I have the G003250A board I need to convert to sata but my IC602 is ST ic. Location IC606 is a Winbond chip. On the donor pcb G003138A, the IC602 is a Winbond chip. The ST and Winbond chips are slightly different sizes in locations IC602.

So by the other post it is ok to swap IC602 from both boards. So its ok to swap a ST ic with a Winbond ic? and don't worry about the IC606 Winbond ic on original pcb?

The writings on the ST ic is:

HPAHQ V(and what looks like a backwards Z beside the V)

ST
