Hi Luke. I thought about adding a second filter/compressor to the top, mounting them 1/3 and 2/3s of the way across to evenly distribute the pressure, but they are a lot of work to make and I’m uncertain whether I would be satisfied with the total airflow volume/speed. The additional parts would cost about $100-$125+tax. I’m undecided which approach to take and need to think about it some more and try a few designs on paper.

The current filter outer circumferential surface area is about 163 sq. inches and of the Fellowes filter about 203 sq. inches. The current filter radial design compresses the pleats on the inner circumference whereas the Fellowes has more open, uniform pleats on both sides. The pleats also appear to be deeper on the Fellowes but I haven’t measured them. Because of this, I would expect the static resistance of the Fellows to be considerably less, and the airflow to be at least 25% higher for any given fan.
