Hi guys,
I've got the same problem with this drive:
Prod Desc: CheopsLiteM.1.0.SATA.Rosewood.Mule.Servo376.Rap30.AP1.4K + SMR Despo DFW
Package Version: RO08B6.SDM2.CC4618.SBM3
Changelist: 01111305
Model #: ST1000LM035-1RK172
ID: 101
Servo FW Rev: 6B61H

The bad news is that I don't own MRT or PC3K. I could only rely on COM port and ATA terminals.
Anybody willing to help me?

The first question how are you willing to unlock the terminal without any tools. Of course it is possible, i too wrote my tool well before those tools were available. After that it should be a POC, if you only need to repair the drive. Recovering the data is a bit more complicated.

I have helped many people and hope that this time somebody might help me. I know nothing about these Rosewood drives, so I can't see what options I've got. But buying a tool like MRT or PC3K isn't an option.

In theory, the MRT card and the first month's activation is under $500.

No option to read it by serial port ?
May 15th, 2020, 5:11
you need to write some code to do that. There is no command to read flash OOB.

Without tools, you cannot work with this drive.

Ok. Sad news

I haven't bought a standard big storage drive in years so I have no idea what everyone considers the sweet spot for price and space. I know I want something larger than a TB, as thats all I have now, and the last time I bought a regular hard drive 1 TB drives were pretty much the largest monsters you could afford.
So what's there to do now? 3 or 4 TBs? Do hard drives last based on their brand?
I want something that isn't a bank breaker and will up my storage space by a few times going from a single 1TB.

Are you sure?

yeah, you either write your tools or buy something commercially available. In either case you have something in your hands

Do you consider a tool stuff like a hexeditor or SPI programmer?
