HDD Burned on gas stove, can it be recovered?

My brother burned my HDD on the gas stove for about 5 minutes with the cover open, can data be recovered from it?

I've seen and recovered drives that look something like this but of course, it's almost impossible to say without testing and seeing the actual drive. It's a time-consuming process but not hopeless. You need to send it to some reputable DR company, there are not many who can or will do this kind of work.

Usually, if the plastic has melted inside there's no chance to recover but this is not always the case, I recently recovered one house fire case and the head ramp was melted quite badly but I was still able to get +90% of the data back.

Most important thing is if Curie point has been reached and magnetic properties have been lost. If so, it's not a hard drive anymore, data is gone and you should move on.

as i said, the question is most likely not curie temp here, but the possible lubricant layer disintegration. In any case, it is not possible to tell it for sure without trying, but there mu$t be $ufficient need with $ufficient 'will' to $upport the action...

there is no lubricant on WD drives, they use diamond layer.
