Unlocking ATA Password for Western Digital

Hey i have a wd3200bevt hard drive that has a password on it, First of all the hdd was in a Lenovo G560 laptop and i gave it to my brother for his birthday, Now he set a password for bios and must of set a password for the hdd.

I used MHDD by making a bootable usb thumb drive and loading the windows 98 bootable files, then i run the mhdd.exe( MHDD 4.5 with ATA Terminal, lets you run scripts) I also downloaded the MHDD.zip in Morbeous's post( sorry if i spelled it wrong) i uzip the MHDD.zip from his post and put it in the flash drive. Now i select my drive, then type in .dump, i get a NO DRQ ERROR, i tried the .dump2, and i also get a NO DRQ ERROR.

Now i have tried this on 2 computers and they both have nvidia chips, i also have a via chipset(6421) i think and it still doesnt work.

What can i be doing wrong? Any help will be appreciated.

I have a WD1200BEVS which is locked im using method from p2 Morbious and i receive on .dump2 some DRQ errors but i have 22.bin file so somebody can tall me what is my master pwd or user pwd.

Well the password is gone.......how?
So i put this hdd to my Notebook HP 6730 in IDE mode (BIOS) method Morboius from p3 but not using mhdd only the god old zu........and no longer password on HDD

I have a WD1600BEVT-08VAT2 that has a master password. I have tried .dump and .dump2 scripts and none of them works with this particular model. I tried on different platforms, but same result: "no DRQ" or "drive reports error". I believe the problem is the cs.bin file, but i might be mistakeing.
Both .dump and .dump2 methods work fine for a WD 1200BEVS-07LAT0 and a WD3200BEVT-60ZCT0.
Is there a problem with WD1600BEVT-08VAT2, do i need another special cs.bin? Can someone give me a clue ?

Please help me too. Im omar from philippines and im trying to unlock this hard disk that was given to me. it came from a person with a broken laptop and cannot open it anymore because it has a password. He seems not to know the password too. I tried zu but came with drive not ready, also tried with MHDD but came out with an error of cant open cs.bin
also the DQR error.. But i have tried it with MAVR_R.COM and came out with this ouput. It seems that the password is just the default. But it does not accept it. Security is on, High.
Hard disk is WD2500BEVS - 22UST0, 250gb. Please do help me.

I have tried everything listed here in the forum, read from page one to end. please tell me what's wrong with what i am doing. Or if what i have posted earlier is already enough to know the password. what should i put in the cs.bin and 21.bin and 22.bin and 42.bin? do i need to put an empty template on them? can anyone post a video on how to do this please? i have tried zu and my problem is drive is not ready, both in /p and /s. I have tried MHDD 4.5 supplied in page 2 and other page, tried using the CD rom, flash and diskette all to no avail. I have encountered both DRQ error, and cannot open cs.bin. I have installed the disk on SATA and it's in primary SATA1. Sorry for the construction of my paragraph. Please help me.

it seems the one i posted earlier wasn't posted. im re attaching my 02_0002.mod rename it to 02_0002.txt. Im thinking this is the reason that is why my recent post wasn't uploaded. If anyone can read this one generated by mavr_r. Please help me, shed some light to my problem.

thanks sir dick for you pm, i really appreciate your help. but i need you to extend more of your help please, i would want to pm you straight but im not yet qualified for the feature so hopefully you'll be able to read this one or ill keep trying until i will be able to pm u. i tried entering the WDCWDCWDC... till 32 characters and 31 characters, tried all caps and and small caps to no avail, how do i enter these? do i need to use the MHDD and type them as is? the master is suppose to supercede the user right? im just wondering how'd you come up with the password, i was hoping someone can teach me how to do this the right way and know the password in the hidden 21.bin and 22.bin codes. im sorry for my very bad english. i was hoping i could do this recovery thing as a extra income here in the Philippines. as you all know life is hard in third world countries. Thank you. please help me.

50- 60$... its to much. i dont have much money to pay for unlocking my hard drive. its just like buying a new hard drive,, i dont care if i lost all my files, as long as i can used the hard drive again..

hi i was stuck with the same problem which i solve on a WDC2500bevt
just a quick list of master pwd i found on my travels

WDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCW <----THIS ONE WORKED FOR ME
WDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWD
&'()*.WDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWDCWD
h2oinsyde <-----for acer drive(but not mine)

if none of the above work then the fun begins
first download MHDD boot disk (google for it)
copy the unzipped files i put up on to a usb stick and plug in
remove all drives except locked one
boot the cd and press F5 (safe mode)
type 'c:' to get to the contents of usb drive
then type MHDD to run the program on the usb not the cd as that is wrong version
in MHDD (select drive this might take a little bit of getting use to!)
run the script by typing ".dump" or ".dump2" (two different scripts)
the script will run and return "DONE"
read the 22.bin file if DUMP script run ok with a hex editor
and 42.bin if DUMP2 script run ok with a hex editor
also read all other posts for more info
