The best software, hard choice.

I wear year with recovery software and i obtained excelent results with software of 39$ and with software of 500$ i can not restore any data, but i have been the opoosite situation too, try to recover data with software of 39$ and no obtain any data but with the other obtain all the data.

so dificult decision.

Try software and think about the response of the testing.

Bye

Seems like Dr.Chad's plan didn't go as well as you expected, didn't it?

Last night i got a yahoo email, someone recommended DC to me, he claimed DC is able to solve my problem and they spend 8 years in developing DC. I replied the email asking for some data sheet about the tool, i hope it is true, not kidding me!

Sorry to chime in and possibly rain on your parade, but you, like
so many others, seem to think that there is some "Magic" software
that will fix everything, sorry it ain't gonna happen.

DC may solve your problem, but just as likely it won't.

The VERY FIRST process in Data Recovery is to determine the
problem. You have to do proper diagnosis BEFORE you can decide
on a course of action for recovery. If the drive has physical damage
then NO software will solve your problem. If the drive has electronic
damage, again software won't help you.

The answers you were given in the beginning of the thread were
the correct answers.
IF your questions were intended so that you can pursue a career
or position in data recovery, then the answer is there is no "BEST"
software. It takes lots of different softwares/hardwares and tools.
and multiple thousands of $$$ . And then there is the learning curve,
Add several years of study to acquire the proper knowledge.

Your present problem would probably be best solved by sending to
a pro. ( and in the long-run will save you time and money)

I'm sure he was telling the complete truth. I've been lying through my teeth. You can't trust me, I'll tell you to do reckless things, like backing up. It is very clear you are going to move ahead in some direction or another, no matter what. Let us know how it goes after you get DC. Many of us are waiting for more reports on how well it works. If not, the Deepspar imager will likely do a better job. If for some reason these don't work, perhaps it's a firmware issue, and a PC3000 UDMA might be able to take care of it. All these will help, unless if you have bad heads. Unfortunately, I don't know much about diagnosing heads, so I couldn't possibly tell you if a bad noise, knocking, etc, could be bad heads. It's probably best to get the tools, and find out. Let us know how it goes.

The hdd can not be detected at all, there is some new experiment data inside which i haven't got time to back up, but not that urgent.

Do you have or know some 'Tool' which has some auto detection functions and then functions to recover data?

You had ample warning.

This will cost you more than $1000 to fix. Probably closer to $2000. I am guessing you will be redoing the experiment.

Stop ignoring our advice.

I have absolutely no pity for you.

Good luck.

I do have accepted your advice and i wrote them down, i will remember it ten thousand years!
I have now backed up all the experiment data , so it is safe now. I have double copies for each.

As for DC, i will see what others say about it and then take actions. If it is really good, i think i will be happy to introduce to all of you guys.

I hope this is an alright spot to post my question

I've been visiting a few websites & reviewing the data recovery software they offer. I've checked out ZAR, WhiteCanyon, Magic Jelly Bean & MediaRecover so far. Unfortunately, I've gotten myself into a situation where my HD is damaged & I'm not sure if recovery of my valuables is possible. This is a very imperative recovery, so please, help me out.
Thanks. Sam.

First step in your case is to diagnose exact problem.
You have to post all the details about a drive and it symptoms, such as: it spins up, makes any noise? If you tried something, what is it?

If your drive has physical damage, there is no software will help you with your problem it could only make it worse.

Your problem is not detected still. How can you expect DC is for to solve the issue... You r facing problem of fever n u r taking the medicine of AIDS. what can u expect?

Submit the failure issue. Or diagnose by yourself or by professional.

One persons fav software, is probably someone else's pet hate. Its not so much the software you use, its the software you prefer in each different scenario that makes a difference. Knowing the advantages and disadvantages of each package is what will give better results. I like UFS Explorer because it lists the DIR structure instantly with no enumeration or anything, yet it sometimes misses data and theres no option to mark or unmark certain files and subfolders. I also like R-Studio where you can mark and unmark folders and files, but takes a while to list DIR structure sometimes, and can sometimes be unstable. I use a total of about 8 software packages, each is better than the other in a certain situation. there is no one solution, but many. Trial and error is where you will find good software.

I use all different software. R studio is very good is certain situations. Winhex is my fav though.

Unfortunatley I cannot draw my own conlcusions from your bland retort. I have a bit of a sniffle at present. Do you think PC3000 could help me before it develops into green parrot disease?
