Tick Head0 and Head1. Click write.
You might also have to fill in the other information, like number of heads, heads in use, etc ....
If all the rest fails, copy that information from a known good equal drive.

that can't be unlocked by conventional methods (like ... ZU

If drive rejects Techno Key or keep access to SA "locked" then ZU can't read module with password at all.
No software can unless you start the drive in safe mode or swap pcb ...
ZU was tried on that locked drive ... and failed.
an acer notebook
Did you test ZU with WD1600BEVS-08VAT2 ?

In this topic volosator has a Lenovo notebook hdd
WD3200BEVS-08VAT2 SATA FW:14.01A14 and could not unlock the drive with zu.
I have WD1600BEVS-08VAT2_14.01A14 and zu.betta.050911 couldn't unlock the drive.
while MHDD couldn't read the Lenovo hddI guess zu could have unlocked it, but it wasn't locked.

I connected to sata port, tried all ports, none worked. Set bios to compatible mode.
HDD Unlock Wizard does not recognize my hard drive
Please make sure that your motherboard IDE/SATA controller is not running in AHCI/RAID mode.
Also, some chipsets (for example, SiS) and most PCI IDE/SATA/RAID controllers (for example, Promise, SiI/Silicon Image, HPT, Adaptec) do not support special non-standard protocol that HDD Unlock Wizard uses. We suggest that you only use standard IDE/SATA ports on your motherboard. The motherboard itself should not be based on a SiS chipset.
If these suggestions do not help, then please try HDD Unlock Wizard on a different platform.

WD1600BEVS-08VAT2 14.01A14 or WD800BEVS-08VAT1 13.01A13, makes no difference, they are same drives just different capacity, neither can be unlocked by zuPapashaBeppe wrote:ZU can.
you need to choose right port & M/B chipset.
