I need more information about Hard Disk Enhaced Secure Erase tools both hardware & software.

This method has advantages over tradidional methods like-
Degaussing / Secure Wipe --DOD M5220 etc.

I found one tool ( http://www.deadondemand.com/products/digitalshredder/)
This is exorbittentely costly US$ 5000. Can someone suggest any alternate , I am willing to pay if someone makes a software to issue this command based on linux / windows .
Tool should log model / s/n of the disk & create report after completion of the process.

Anyone tried Bangdisk32? From CPRtools, looks pretty good and secure.

I use modified selfscan on maxtor and samsungs, for wds and fujitsu there's the internal format command... Selfscan is more secure, anyway.
IF and SS also run unattended!

Thanks for your help , this tool is ineed useful for destruction of Top Secret Hard disks.
I have my customers having 100 -150 disk , which i want to erase & certify that they dont contain confidential data. Customer wants to use disks again.

Oh not only them ... I'm sure if I open the HDA of an unrecoverable disk, I piss inside and the customer sends the disk to another DR company for a second opinion, they connect the disk and "BLACKST WAS HERE" will be shown as model/serial no.

Jokes apart, if not specified, a "decent" level of security can be achieved with simple writing zeroes, or better, selfscanning drives (adaptives are recalculated). Otherwise, they have to specify exactly what are their security needs.
We have already discussed the security issues on another thread in the technology forum, if I remember right.

Zero write is enough.
after zero fill Ontrack will not say its recoverable.

I have and it works fine. It would work for what he wants but he would have to save the report with the information he was interested in after the command completed. It also logs errors and all of the sectors written. They make hardware that does exactly what he wants:
http://www.cprtools.net/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=4&products_id=45 but it's $5000. The digital shredder that he linked to cost way more than 5k when I inquired about it. It was well over 10k about a year ago.

Software won't issue the enhanced secure erase command inside of windows (windows isn't to fond of these commands it can be done but it is a real, real pain in the a** and not really a functional option). DOS and hardware based stuff will do it.
