Hi.. My harddrive was accidentally dropped and now it started making weird noises
the disk is spining faster than usual and every now and then, it makes a "tick" noise afew times
I had it for several years now so you think it can still be fixed?
or any way to recover the data in there?

The most important thing to do, assuming data is important, is do not attempt anything yourself.

If it was dropped you may have damaged the spindle motor, though this may not be the case as it still powers, but the fact that it 'ticks' indicates internal head assembly may be damaged. Do not continue to power the disk, and damaged reading heads can potentially cause irrepairable damage to platters and render data unrecoverable. Do not attempt to open, or perform any diy recovery on it, as this will also render data unrecoverable.

Send disk to a professional DR company for professional analysis. If data is unimportant, then you can experiment and learn at no risk.

The important question here is did you make a backup?

I'm in australia... havent back up my data
friend suggest i should buy a new identical hard drive and swap the data discs
does that work? i'm inexperience with hdd

If you remove the platters and you do it wrong then you can say goodbye to your data forever. There is zero reason to remove platters unless there is an issue with the motor or the platters need re-alignment, but it is also something you should not do unless you know exactly what you are doing.

Like others have said, if you want the data back you need to send to a professional DR company. If you open and try things yourself you could up permanently destroying any chance of recovery.
