Hello all
My hard disk stopped working when i accidently plugged in a wrong power adapter and discovered a burnt component on the pcb....problem seems to be similar to :
please-help-identify-fried-pcb-wd3200jb-00kfa0-any-comment-t8137.htmlI have some pictures attached - the burnt components are different to the case above.
Can someone please lend me some assistance :
1) what is the burnt component (it's on the corner of the board)?
2) where is the U12 chip on the board?
3) Do i have to get a new pcb board, take off my U12 and get it soldered onto the new matching board or can i just replace the burnt component?
4) If my board details are as follows......
Western Digital CAVIAR SE
model - WD3200JB - 00KFA0
DCM - HHBACAJCHN
Made in Thailand
Date : 22 Nov 2006
PCB BOARD NO - 2061-701314 - 003 REV A
.. what details do i have to match with the replacement PCB?
5) where do i buy a replacement pcb ?
6) what are my chances of damaging the disk in doing the above??? i have some vital data on the disk...
thanks in advance for your help!!!!!
