WD1600JD clicking

Hi Forum

i am wondering if anyone can provide a bit of assistance with the above drive.
Drive keeps on clicking so i did some tests with pc3000 and have the following.
Drive cant be ID'd just clicks all the time and does not enter ready state.
i entered kernel mode and diabled heads one by one to isolate the issue, the initial head map shows head map 0, 1, 4, 5, i disabled heads one by one, got to a point where with head 1 diabled, the drive does become ready, it can be id'd correctly,
Data extractor is able to id the drive and try and access the contents, however it stops here, i am assuming i obviously need the drive in full working order with 4 heads in order to access the data with DE

my question is can data extractor extract data with only 3 heads, it seems to hang and try software and hardware resets and takes a very long time to progress?
does the above issue indicate a head failure? if so i have an exact donor that is in working condition, if i perform a head swap wioth these drives is there anything in particular i need to pay close attention to,

Once again thank you for all your help in advance. :)

Definitely a head problem. I'll go for a head swap in order to have a full recovery, not only isolate the faulty head.
