I don't know if this topic is still alive...I bought the same Toshiba zip hdd MK8010GAH for Ipod and found out that this hdd is not properly working in my netbook. After some investigations around i think i found a way how to access this hdd. I used hdat2 software to access the hdd. There is definitely no HPA/DCO on it but this hdd has 1.03Gb hidden partition. GPT table is marked 81h which is MINIX1.4b+ ADM. In fact its MINIX partition and i think it's possible to remove using DRDOS. Unfortunately hdat2 couldn't format hdd due to some protection but Acronics Disk runing in DOS could format it (with mistakes) in FAT and this hdd became visible in bios during start-up of PC.
