We have big problem with the data in our troubled HDD Maxtor D540X-4K. The "doctor" says the reading heads (2 pcs) are failured.
Please, if some one can supply us against the payment with two heads, that shall be great!
Any ideas how we can solve the prblem?
Thanks everybody!

You need a set of heads or want the drive repaired and data recovered (if possible) ? A recovery - assuming there is no platter damage - in such conditions is from 500/750$ up. More likely 1000$ for a complete recovery.

If u hdd its D540X 4K04H2 40 or 80 so so, and did 2 knocks the motor speed change knocks agains, could be MHA problem, if doesnt knock and reach readiness there are another way to tried to get sectors, but only by a DR Proof company without head exchange .

Hi,
This drive needs pretty special tools and attention because of the impossibility to find compatible heads.
We can handle this job if U want to ship it. the price is about what BlackST said, probably bellow $1000.
where are you based?
