Toshiba MK2035GSS: need indications for PCB match

Hi all Guru's
I have a problem with a Toshiba HDD.
It was working fine until I bought a new external usb/eSata enclosure, which I think has had to be faulty since the Toshiba hdd didn't even power/spin up in it.
I put the Toshiba drive back in it's original USB enclosure, where 10min before it was working just fine...but now: nothing...dead.
Seems no power arrives to the disk.
So my little action to try the new enclosure has been devastating for the poor toshiba drive...

Now...after quite some days of surfing on forums and ebay listings I am not quite sure about the exact codes I have to match trying to find a compatible donor for a PCB swap.
(i think also the CPU will have to be put on the donor PCB, right?)

The numbers on my drive are (see also attached photos):
MDL: MK2035GSS
HDD2A30 C ZK01 T
FW: 020 A0/DK022A
made in Philippines
PCB: 020 B0 (white label on the component side of the PCB)

Now on ebay I have found some possible donors, but all without a 100% match of all numbers.

So I would like some advise on finding the most compatible drive for a PCB swap...
I've read that some people just match the MLD# (MK2035GSS) and the productions site (ZK01 T), so drive #1 and #2 would both do the job.
Someone else claims to match PCB number (020 B0) and FW (020 A0/DK022A), so (if PCB numbers matches) drive #3 would be my choice...

Any suggestions?

You need to match PCB PN (which is FKN6GA on your PCB)
After that you will need to swap CPU (It's MicroBGA and it's not easy)

So all the other numbers are not important anymore, as long as I find a PCB with PN# FKN6GA?

I know the difficulty of CPU swap...
I won't do this myself, I'll look for an expert used to do BGA soldering.

If you are going to replace CPU the other numbers won't matter

doomer is right, transferring the CPU is difficult, and without transferring this then adaptive data on donor PCB will likely be different.

If data is important to you, consult a professional. Could be easily repaired with the right tools, maybe the fuse is dead. Are you sure no power is going through the PCB? Maybe it is powering but heads are parked incorrectly on platters causing resistance. this could potentially be dangerous for your data.

Remember, any work you attempt yourself could potentially render the data inaccessible, even to a pro.

sorry for my absence this week, sorry for not giving you any reply/feedback.
I've been out of town for work...

First of all, thanks to you for your answers.

I am waiting for disk #1 and #2 to be delivered.
Then I'll try the pcb swap.

But I understand first step is to check fuse (F1) on the PCB, right?
Then if PCB number match I can proceed with the PCP swap (having the CPU swapped also by a pro technician capable of doing BGA jobs).

What happens if I swap PCB without also swapping the CPU?

And if i find an other hdd where all number match (model, firmware, country of production, pcb) any chance PCB swap will work without CPU being swapped?

start to look for an experienced BGA soldeer guy and that'll do the job (I hope)...

I think BlackST was refering if YOU did it .. If the correct equipment is used and the processor isnt already blown, then there should be no problem.

You're 14 years too late ... and the "ROM" is inside the MCU.

But the pc3000 hardware does not know how to write ROM. It can only read it. I thought that the ROM is not fully readable.
In addition, the pc3000 does not allow you to write the edited CP. Or am I doing something wrong

checksum must be corrected to write cp.

And it is possible to write rom with any terminal program, at least on those with external serial flash.
I haven't really checked these old bro's coz they are not coming anymore.
