try describing what the actual fault is. spinning? clicking? squeeeeeeling? who told you to get a new board and why? I'll tell you something for nothing, new board wont work without modifications. You need the help of a pro, it's gonna cost you.

the drive does nothing. Local computer guys checked it out. Iomega data recover guy said if i get a drive with same model and firmware then i could swap electronics board (with help?) which he said was more than likely dead. the board in the iomega also is dead

Toshibas have unique adaptive data on PCB and PCB replacement will not work.

If your PCB has failed, it will probably need replacement including transfer of adaptive data, which is located on a BGA chip on this model - which requires specialised equipment. Simple PCB swap will NOT work.

It's not going to be cheap, but PM me if you like, I'm in IRL.

You have not really described any symptoms with your toshiba, PCB replacement may not even be nessecary.

Come on Spaz, please don't insult me. Half price recovery that triples in price when it has to go to the UK?

No, I run the only real DR company here, with proper ESD and Class 100 equipment. We don't sell ink cartidges/fix PC's/train people to type or paint walls. Too many cowboys masquerading as DR but acting as agents for UK companies, like most other markets I suppose.

What amateur doesn't??

We've seen plenty of their work from unhappy customers where prices have spiraled out of control. Anyway, I'm not going to start attacking individuals here, we are busy enough with real work and happy customers.
