Hi Falther,
Good idea.
Well, due to the recession, so DR business should do:
1) Cut down the price;
2) Expand business such as Backup, PC/Laptop Repair,Virus Clean and etc.... However, BlackST said DR is luxury, maybe we should stand out from the mass and keep our DR dignity? Well, a real hard decision to make;
3) The last but not least important, our business mode; As DR alwasy keep waiting calls and wait clients to send their drives, mostly individuals who get panic; a serisou question: Can we provide On-site DR Service for emergency and for some special institute?
So, if it is the time for us to go outside the lab and put down our unrealistic self-complacence, put our hands on the dead drives and bring life back to them?
It's just my humble Opinion.
Regards
Laura

The reasonable price is the point. Some of the established DR companies
will have to rethink their price policy - charging $/€ 2,000.- for a short
and easy work is neither justified nor ethical.
There are now three correctives for such prices:
1. cheaper and easier tools (like those from SD)
2. knowledge is spread (internet video like - "how to change hdd heads")
3. present economy
(The 4th would be ethical criteria, but I just learned from a "collegue", that
the new BMW is more important).
