Toshiba MK4019 dead PCB

February 24th, 2009, 6:14

I’ve got a TOshiba PCB here that is dead. It looks clean and there are no hot spots when power is applied, No Busy, just nothing at all. Does anybody know where the TVS is on this board, how many etc. I might lift them just to see if it helps.

Agree with spaz, most likely fuse is gone.

Sorry for being thick, why break a habit of a lifetime  Where are the fuses? I don't want to bridge the wrong thing.

Thanks guys.

A good job I asked as I was looking in the wrong place. A quick check with the multimeter confirmed the problem so I bridged the fuse and now the drive is ready. Obviously I won't continue to use it though :)
