Hi everyone!

I have one 80Gb western digital model WD800BB-00DKA0 and i do not need the data in it, but i want to recover the drive itself. It is not being detected by bios. Pc3kv14 in firmware structure report gives negative SPT (sectors per track)

It also gives SA starting from cylinder -32 and ending in cylinder -32 (normal drive is -32 to -1)

I tried to change SPT in firmware menu, but it didn't work.

Any ideas?

SPT on this model is taken from zone table. Maybe you have wrong value in zone table. I don't know how PC3K read SPT but can be finded very easy. (If you know how to read physical from cyl -32 to -1, you can see first sector who begin produce many errors on read). Reading from SA can be done using 20h or 21h after sending SuperOn but you must know bits translations for IO operation.
