How WD10EAVS heads distribute data across all platters

March 4th, 2009, 6:12

Hi guys

I was just wondering how WD10EAVS heads stores data across all platters.
Example: Are all Heads (H0...H7) reads/writes data equally on all platters?
How Headmaps play a role in recording data to platters?
Headmap indicated H0,H1, H2, H3, H4, H5, H6 and H7

Thank you for any feedbacks.

Data written equally on all platters H0->H1->H2->H3->H4->H5->H6->H7->H0.... or maybe H0->H1->H2->H3->H4->H5->H6->H7->H6->H5->H4->H3->H2->H1->H0.... I don't remember for WD
Several tracks per head (amount of tracks in group is the same for all heads and zones)
