I have a Seagate ST3300831A 300Gb drive in an external enclosure that was working one minute and next minute stopped working and locked up my computer. With the drive powered up Windows doesn't boot. Removed the drive from the enclosure and attached to internal IDE cable. The drive is recognized by the bios but Windows still will not boot with the drive attached, unattached Windows does boot. When the drive stopped working it started making a light clicking like a seeking problem. Are there any steps I can take salvage this drive.
