I know I keep ramping on about it, but I still think its a good thing and should be welcomed by those that are technically competant. For those that are afraid, either dont join, or join and become a committee member to ensure impartiality.

There are now 4 committee members, myself, Mike from MJM Data Recovery in UK, Richard from Xytron Data Recovery in UK and David from Data Recovery Centre Portugal.

Member countries now include:

UK
Ireland
USA
Canada
Russia
Portugal
Mexico
Italy
India
Brasil

Oviously, its up to you to join or not. Worst case is that you spend 5 minutes filling in a form, best case scenario, becoming a member makes you part of the community or IPDRA and assists in bringing you business.

Regards,

Simon

Simon,

No offence, but doesn't it falls under "spamming" now?

You have created a lot of topics, just to promote your organisation, if you want, you could have posted in your previous topics, but you always seem to create a new topic to say every word you have.

Also, you are just trying to get on our nerves, almost every member of hddguru now knows about you, and you have hardly get any positive feedback from any of the respected senior member, then why you keep promoting this thing again and again like a spammer? I respect the work you are doing, and the organisation idea, but by involving in such kind of cheap and aggressive way of marketing (which usually spammers do, I have seen a quite in this forum), which leaves no difference in you and that chinese person selling nike shoes.

As, Disklabs is a reputable name in the DR industry, it's like playing with that image too. You are publishing the "Disklabs" as forum spammers, which is obviuosly not your goal I think.

I have no odd feelings about your or your work, and I appreciate the idea and motive behind it, but the way to promote it just getting on our nerves. (It becomes important, when no member has applaude you about this).

I hope, you will understand the positive feedback.

I think, dmitriy should look over it!

Wouldnt it be easier to edit your post instead of creating new ones? Also, why not make public the current members, not committee members, but actual DR companies registered and the levels registered at. Surely this will add some credibility to the association. Maybe seeing some of the bigger names in this forum and some of the bigger DR firms on your list may encourage more members. It will also allow a better idea of how you structure the levels and members.

And what is with the bid option? How are different levels recognised in the directory? How would I be sure as a customer that I am sending my HDD to a large reputable company with appropriate facilities and much experience?

The top tier suggests you require the following:

· System area Repair
· Firmware Repair
· Head Stack Changes
· Semi Conductor Removal
· Semi Conductor Re-Write
· Printed Circuit Board Repair
· Software Repairs
· RAID Data Recovery Techniques
· Tape Data Recovery Techniques
· Use an ‘in-date’ Clean Facility to ISO BSEN 14644
· Have a Secure facility in which they operate
· Have 10 years documented experience

I have experience with all the above, as an individual I have 7 years experience in DR, my company has over 15 years experience, but in the directory how would potential customers differentiate me from 'fred in a shed' ?

Not intended - but I get what you are saying - will sort that out

You have created a lot of topics, just to promote your organisation, if you want, you could have posted in your previous topics, but you always seem to create a new topic to say every word you have.

This is to ensure that its higher up on the forum list, not just for the sake of spamming - thats not my intention and as the point above, I will just add on rather than start a new post

Also, you are just trying to get on our nerves, trying?almost every member of hddguru now knows about you, and you have hardly get any positive feedback from any of the respected senior member, then why you keep promoting this thing again and again like a spammer? As the organisation is free, there is no money for advertising, nor promoting - hence the posts

Another decent point - taken on board

I have added a directory to the site and all members who have applied and qualify. For some reason, not all have not added their own or company details to the directory. Your comment about having members listed at their respective levels was already thought of and has been implemented. It has been added specifically for the credibility of the association - as you suggested.

Maybe seeing some of the bigger names in this forum and some of the bigger DR firms on your list may encourage more members. It will also allow a better idea of how you structure the levels and members.

If you had that much experience and could prove it, you would qualify for Professional Membership. This would enable you to use the Logo on your site, (as long as it links back to the respective page on the IPDRA website, (it would be the page with all the requirements on it http://www.ipdra.org/data_recovery_professional.html). 'Fred in a shed' could only get Associate Member at best unless his shed was secure, had a clean facility etc...

I have based this model on the British Computer Society model, which includes similar levels.

If you can think of other levels or ideas, then let me know, I'm all ears!

Sorry for the constant posting - I will now only post on the current forums, but be assured, I had no interest in upsetting anyone.

Best regards, as ever,
